About The Position

St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey, is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Telemetry Unit. The nurse delivers safe, direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and practices within the scope of nursing practice. The role includes guiding patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the unit. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the care of assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond promptly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Requirements

Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain certification.
Complete Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain certification.

Nice To Haves

Previous acute-care hospital experience.
Ventilator management experience.
Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Direct and guide patient and family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
Maintain standards of care in the Telemetry Unit.
Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care of assigned patients.
Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
