About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Telemetry Unit at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. The role delivers safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and provides direct care within the scope of nursing practice. The nurse directs and supports patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the unit.

The Registered Nurse is accountable for care delivered to assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment. This is a full-time day position, scheduled 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for three 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain standards of care in the Telemetry Unit.
• Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment.
