About The Position

Paradise Valley Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide psychiatric and behavioral health nursing care. The role involves treating patients, educating them about mental and medical conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their families. Nurses run therapeutic groups and provide psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint when needed. Registered nurses record medical histories and symptoms, assist with diagnostic testing and analysis, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and support follow-up care and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, including diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
