About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Clinical Decision Unit at Advocate Sherman Hospital, a Magnet-designated hospital in Elgin, Illinois. The unit provides short-term monitoring, testing, and treatment while clinicians determine whether patients require hospital admission or can be safely discharged. The nurse provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills to support patient safety and a positive patient experience across the continuum of care. The unit is described as collaborative and supportive, with nurses ranging from new graduates to experienced professionals and supported by nursing assistants.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
