About The Position

TriHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit, also known as the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), at Bethesda North Hospital. The nurse provides direct and indirect holistic care to adult and geriatric patients requiring short-term monitoring, diagnostic testing, and treatment. Patients may receive medical, pre/post-surgical, and cardiac care in this 35-bed inpatient unit, which follows Medicare guidelines. The Registered Nurse applies the nursing process, collaborates with physicians and other health care team members, and supports patients and families through clinical decisions. The role contributes to patient flow, safety, and outcomes in a fast-paced setting. Nurses work closely with Acute Care Technicians and may delegate and supervise aspects of care within the scope of nursing practice. New team members receive corporate orientation, individualized onboarding, and preceptor-supported training. Unit orientation is tailored to experience and typically lasts 4–8 weeks, with training opportunities that include NIHSS certification, ACLS/BLS training, ECG/telemetry skills, SIM code readiness exercises, and shadowing. The unit uses a six-week scheduling cycle, including every third weekend and holiday rotations. The position is part-time, 24 hours weekly, on nights from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and is on-site at Bethesda North Hospital.
