Requirements

  • Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • If possessing an active temporary practice permit, must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing
  • Must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license at the time of appointment
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Implement assigned care plans by checking vital signs, giving medications, performing treatments, and reinforcing patient education
  • Assist with physical examinations, chronic care clinics, specialty clinics, treatments, immunizations, and medical screenings
  • Perform assessments and provide emergency care including first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), or automated external defibrillator (AED), and coordinate referral for advanced treatment
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records, prepare reports, and track controlled substances and narcotics
  • Sterilize instruments, manage inventory, and maintain adequate treatment area supplies
  • Attend required training and stay current on policy and procedure updates
