About The Position
As a Registered Nurse with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of patients at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Albion. Requirements
- Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
- If possessing an active temporary practice permit, must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within one (1) year
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

- Graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing within 60 days of application
Responsibilities
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and support daily living needs for patients
- Assist clinicians with examinations, testing, screenings, and immunizations
- Provide first aid, CPR, AED assistance, and refer patients for advanced care when needed
- Document medical information, prepare reports, and maintain electronic health records
- Follow procedures to ensure safe practices and prevent the spread of illness
- Participate in training sessions and maintain knowledge of facility policies
