About The Position

The New Nurse Experience Program is a full-time Registered Nurse position designed to help new graduates transition into competent professional nurses at Banner Health. The program provides a collaborative learning environment to refine nursing skills, expand knowledge, and build professional relationships. Nurses are placed in specific units and receive clinical mentoring from unit staff and educators. Participants are expected to remain on their assigned NNE unit for at least 12 months and must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the facility. This role is in the 60-bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, which cares for a range of cardiovascular patients and emphasizes a safe environment for patients and staff. The unit's patients and procedures may include NSTEMI/STEMI, heart failure, arrhythmias, stents, pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, Watchman, MitraClips, and vasoactive drips. The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The nurse is accountable for the quality of nursing services provided by themselves and those under their direction, and applies specialized knowledge and judgment to deliver care appropriate to each patient's physical and developmental age. The program includes preceptor-led clinical experiences, training at Banner's simulation center, competency and skills assessments, orientation to the Cerner electronic health record, hands-on patient-care skills lab experience, e-learning modules, and professional and personal development resources. Most new nurses work three 12-hour shifts, with weekend and holiday rotations. The listed day shift is 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
