RN - Registered Nurse ( Night Shift )
About The Position
Valley Hope of Boonville is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate medical care for patients receiving residential and outpatient addiction treatment. Nurses typically support patients from admission through discharge during a 30–45-day treatment period. The role includes carrying out prescribed treatments and medication interventions, conducting detox admissions, supporting patients through detoxification, monitoring their condition, and responding to medical emergencies. The position is on the night shift, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The residential treatment facility requires walking throughout the facility.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Responsibilities
- Execute prescribed treatments and medication interventions established for each patient.
- Conduct detox admissions and provide care during detoxification, including patient pre-screening, gathering physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring patients.
- Follow established policies and procedures for medical emergencies, including convulsions, suicide-related emergencies, and Delirium Tremens.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary environment using infection-control techniques and universal precautions.
- Follow policies and procedures to protect patient information and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Record treatment activities and patient observations accurately and promptly in patient records, and complete required paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Communicate with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff about patients’ treatment and status.
- Oversee non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
