About The Position

Carmel Manor, a faith-based, nonprofit short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, is hiring a full-time Nurse Supervisor (RN) for night shifts. The facility describes its mission as treating staff and residents with love and respect. The schedule alternates between one week of three 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift, followed by one week of two 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift. Compensation is $46.50 to $51 per hour, based on skills, experience, and shift. The Nurse Supervisor directs, evaluates, and supervises resident care and provides clinical supervision to nurses, aides, and resident assistants. The role includes conducting daily rounds and reporting to nursing leadership, addressing quality assurance findings, investigating medication errors or drug shortages, reviewing psychiatric visits, conducting AIMS testing and follow-up, and ensuring staff orientation and on-the-job training. A criminal record check is required as a condition of employment under state law.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current RN licensure by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing.
BLS certification.
At least one year of experience in long-term care.
At least one year of nursing supervisory experience in long-term care or a hospital.
English language required.
Criminal record check required as a condition of employment under state law.

Responsibilities

Direct, evaluate, and supervise all resident care, initiating corrective action where necessary.
Perform daily rounds and provide a formal report to the Director of Nursing Service and/or Assistant Director of Nursing.
Receive quality assurance monitors for the department and develop plans of correction.
Investigate medication errors or drug shortages and prepare reports for the Director of Nursing.
Review visits by the Psychiatrist and prepare summaries of resident progress; alert staff of scheduled visits.
Provide clinical supervision of nurses, aides, and resident assistants providing direct resident care.
Conduct AIMS testing and follow up on irregularities.
Ensure orientation and on-the-job training for nurses and nurse aides.
