About The Position
HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to provide clinical expertise and high-quality, efficient care to patients in a high-acuity environment. The role is part of a team supported by staffing resources, patient-monitoring and communication technology, clinical education, and robust supplies. The nurse assesses, plans, intervenes in, and evaluates care for Progressive Care Unit patients; instructs patients and families about medications and treatment; maintains and reviews patient records, including test and examination results; and administers medications according to physician orders.
Requirements
- Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse under state regulations, or appropriate compact licensure. If holding a compact license, an active Florida RN license is required within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
- PC skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, intervene in, and evaluate care for Progressive Care Unit patients.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintain and review patient records, including posting tests and examination results.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
