About The Position

Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join its inpatient team at a 120-bed adult inpatient psychiatric hospital in Tacoma, Washington. The nonprofit hospital is accredited by the Department of Health and The Joint Commission.

This role promotes and restores patients’ mental health in a safe, therapeutic environment by providing direct nursing care within the nursing process. Registered Nurses participate in patient care plans and wraparound services, provide physical and psychological support, and offer clinical leadership to other staff on the unit. They maintain a hopeful, positive approach to problem-solving and coping, foster effective communication and relationships with patients, and model Wellfound’s values while supporting a positive work environment and quality, efficient patient care.

This is a 0.9 FTE position working three 12-hour night shifts per week, with rotating weekends. The position offers a $12,500 sign-on bonus payable over one year, with a one-year commitment. Hourly pay is $41.12–$76.24 based on the union scale for experience, with shift differentials of $4.25 for nights and $3.00 for weekends. Relocation reimbursement may be available. Union membership is required within 30 calendar days of employment and must be maintained in good standing unless an approved religious exemption applies.

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing.
• Current Washington State nursing license without restrictions or an accepted compact license.
• At least one year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience.
• Strong nursing assessment skills.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Join the SEIU Union within 30 calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing, unless approved for a religious exemption.
