About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work on Hauenstein 2, a 16-bed, multi-specialty stepdown unit focused on sepsis, trauma, and other specialties. The unit provides patient-centered care to complex medical-surgical, oncology, trauma, and sepsis patients who need increased monitoring and clinical support. This fast-paced, collaborative role offers opportunities to strengthen clinical expertise and contribute to patient outcomes alongside an experienced team.

The schedule is full time, consisting of three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every-third-weekend rotation.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school and program.
• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• If hired in Grand Rapids with an ADN, enroll in a BSN program within six months of hire and complete it within four years of hire.
• Licensed in the State of Michigan.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification at hire or within six months of hire.
• Experience as a registered nurse required.

Responsibilities

• Care for complex medical-surgical, oncology, trauma, and sepsis stepdown patients.
• Perform advanced patient assessments and monitoring.
• Apply critical thinking and clinical decision-making.
• Manage stepdown patients and develop expertise in their care.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, and fellow nurses.
• Contribute to improved patient outcomes through evidence-based practice.
