About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintains professional accountability for care provided to assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and the confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.

This is a full-time day position in Ortho/Spine. A sign-on bonus is offered: $15,000 for experienced nurses and $10,000 for new graduate nurses.

Requirements

• Graduate from a school of nursing; an associate's degree, diploma, or BSN is accepted.
• Obtain and maintain a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed, and meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or successfully complete the course within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Nice To Haves

• Depending on the position or unit, one or more additional certifications may be required, or may need to be obtained within the department-required timeframe: ACLS/ALS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E. Six Assessment & Care Modules, C-EFM, or other unit-specific certifications.
