About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers patient care using the Nursing Process: assessing patients, planning and providing care, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role incorporates age-specific safety and infection-control measures, responds to patients’ and significant others’ information needs, and maintains continuity of care across shifts and facilities, including during out-of-hospital transfers. The nurse works on the Orthopedic unit at Texas Health Dallas, a cohesive team environment caring for patients undergoing joint replacement and other orthopedic procedures, including patients with concurrent medical issues. The unit focuses on improving quality of care and patient outcomes. This is a full-time day position, 7 a.m.–7 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. The workplace is Texas Health Dallas in Dallas, Texas.

Requirements

Nursing diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
One year of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting required.
Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required before providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training required within 90 days and maintained annually.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred upon hire.
Orthopedic Nurse Certified (ONC) preferred upon hire.
