About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the ICU at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. This full-time role is scheduled for day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., three 12-hour shifts per week. The nurse delivers safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; provides direct care within the scope of practice; and directs patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care. The nurse is accountable for care provided to assigned patients, communicates clinical changes and diagnostic results to physicians, responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response, and protects patient privacy and confidentiality. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available to qualified candidates, subject to eligibility and payout terms.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• At least one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Critical Care Course.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
• Be directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
