About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides safe, direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role includes guiding patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is accountable for the care of assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal findings, and symptoms. The nurse must respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it current.
At least one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Critical Care Course.
Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Critical care experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
Maintain ICU standards of care.
Remain accountable for the care provided to assigned patients.
Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical condition, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptomatology.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
