About The Position

Registered nurses provide and coordinate care for patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients and their families. The role includes assessing and reassessing patients, developing individualized plans of care, administering medications, documenting care, educating patients and families, maintaining equipment, and communicating patient needs. The nurse also coordinates patient care across disciplines and helps plan for discharge.

Requirements

• RN licensure by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
• BLS certification.
• Must obtain ACLS within six months of hire or transfer from a non-ICU area.

Nice To Haves

• ICU experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One to two years of clinical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Provide respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients.
• Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients and families.
• Develop individualized plans of care, educate patients and families, maintain equipment, and communicate patient needs.
