About The Position

Mission Community Hospital is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to join its team. The nurse independently uses the nursing process to provide safe, therapeutic, and efficient care to a group of patients in accordance with policies and procedures. The role delivers individualized, quality patient care through coordination with physicians, staff, other departments, patients, and their families. The nurse must comply with the California Nurse Practice Act, Article 2, Section 2725 of the Business and Professions Code.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or bachelor’s school of nursing, or vocational nursing.
• Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Proof of current CPR certification.
• Compassionate, friendly demeanor.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients in their homes for one-on-one visits.
• Complete initial and ongoing assessments to identify the physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs of home health patients.
• Assess patients’ conditions, chart observations, and perform evaluation tasks, including taking vital signs and reviewing medications.
• Administer medication as prescribed by the patient’s physician.
• Educate patients and their families on home health care strategies and procedures, and recommend devices or tools that may improve patients’ quality of life.
• Communicate effectively with patients or clients, their family members, team members, and other health care professionals.
