About The Position

VitalHire is hiring a per diem/PRN Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department at an acute care hospital in Marrero, Louisiana. Nurses can select available shifts through an app, with instant confirmations and the ability to schedule shifts as far in advance as openings allow. The hourly rate is $48.75. Available 12-hour shifts are days (6:45 AM–7:15 PM CT), mid (10:45 AM–11:15 PM CT), and nights (6:45 PM–7:15 AM CT). Orientation shifts run 7:30 AM–5:00 PM CT.

Requirements

At least 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience.
Active, unencumbered Louisiana RN license or compact license.
Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
Hepatitis B series or titer.
MMR series or titer.
Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years or titer.
Varicella series or titer.

Responsibilities

Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity using emergency nursing protocols.
Provide emergency nursing care, including medication administration, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and trauma response.
Collaborate with physicians and the care team on rapid interventions, codes, and patient stabilization.
Accurately document care and follow infection control, patient safety, and throughput protocols.
