About The Position

Mechanicsville Specialty Care, a 39-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Mechanicsville, Iowa, is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care to residents. This full-time position is scheduled for evenings, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and offers competitive wages and shift differentials.

The RN provides direct nursing care in a skilled nursing environment, supports unit clinical operations, administers medications and treatments, monitors residents and responds to changes in their condition, and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members. The nurse also communicates with residents and families, documents care, and follows infection-control, safety, compliance, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Valid RN license in good standing, valid in Iowa or able to be activated in Iowa.
• Current, valid CPR certification.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations and laws.
• Commitment to helping others and treating them with empathy, respect, patience, and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing environment.
• Support daily clinical operations on the unit, ensuring quality care and resident safety.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
• Monitor resident conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
• Collaborate with CNAs, LPNs, providers, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
• Document care accurately to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and compliance protocols.
