About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in the Intermediate Care Unit at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week role with day hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and every other weekend. The nurse assesses patients and coordinates individualized care, communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to support safe, timely, and appropriate interventions. The role also includes patient and family education, participation in quality improvement, and maintaining current knowledge of nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and collect health data involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Coordinate patient plans of care to ensure interventions are consistent, safe, timely, and appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on assessment of their learning needs.
- Participate in evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations.
