Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit - Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in the Intermediate Care Unit at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week position on a day schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend required and no required travel. The nurse assesses patients and gathers health data from patients, families, and other healthcare providers; coordinates safe, timely, and appropriate plans of care; communicates effectively with customers; and provides individualized patient and family education. The role also supports quality improvement and maintains current knowledge of nursing standards, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an associate degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and collect health data involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Coordinate patient plans of care to ensure interventions are consistent, safe, timely, and appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on an assessment of their specific learning needs.
- Participate in evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations.
