Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 16-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), known as 7N, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. The unit provides highly skilled care to a variety of patients. This is a PRN position on the first (day) shift. The Registered Nurse provides competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The role also follows professional performance standards covering ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and nursing research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must have the clinical knowledge and skills required to meet standards for the specific clinical area.
Requirements
- RN degree required.
- Virginia RN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

- Prior RN experience preferred.
