About The Position
AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a six-month contract assignment at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California. The position is on a medical unit and includes one week of orientation. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute meal break. The assignment dates are November 30, 2026, through May 30, 2027. Pay details are available by contacting the employer.
Requirements
- Active California RN license (BRN).
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Acute care or med-surg experience.
- Background check and facility security clearance.
- TB test, immunizations, and facility health clearances.
Nice To Haves
- Correctional experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to incarcerated patients on a medical unit.
- Administer medications and treatments and accurately document care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with providers and custody.
- Follow all safety, security, and contraband procedures.
