About The Position
Avoca Specialty Care, a 45-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Avoca, Iowa, is hiring a Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The RN provides compassionate direct nursing care to residents, supports unit clinical operations, and contributes to resident safety and quality care. The role includes administering medications and treatments, monitoring resident conditions, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, communicating with residents and families, maintaining accurate documentation, and following infection-control, safety, and compliance protocols.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in good standing, valid in Iowa or able to be activated in Iowa.
- Current, valid CPR certification.
- Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations and laws.
- Strong commitment to helping others and consistently treating them with empathy, respect, patience, and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing environment.
- Support daily clinical operations on the unit, ensuring quality care and resident safety.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
- Monitor resident conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
- Collaborate with CNAs, LPNs, providers, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
- Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
- Document care accurately to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
- Follow infection control, safety, and compliance protocols at all times.
