About The Position

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital is hiring a patient-centered Registered Nurse to join its behavioral health team in the Independence, Missouri area. The position provides care for individuals experiencing mental health challenges in a safe, caring, and therapeutic environment. The RN conducts nursing assessments and ongoing evaluations, helps develop and update individualized care plans, administers medications, monitors patient responses and safety, maintains documentation, and educates families. The hospital is expected to open in the second half of 2026 and will serve children, adolescents, adults, and seniors with inpatient behavioral health care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the state of Missouri or a compact state.
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in behavioral health, assessments, crisis intervention, and admissions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient evaluations.
• Help develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic response and side effects.
• Monitor patient safety and maintain documentation.
• Educate families.
