Registered Nurse - Same Day Surgery - Full Time
About The Position
The Day Surgery Staff Nurse provides pre-operative and post-operative care to patients of all ages undergoing ambulatory procedures, including endoscopy, minor surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic outpatient procedures and treatments. The nurse also cares for inpatients requiring major or endoscopic procedures and patients admitted to the hospital on the same day. AORN Ambulatory Surgery Standards and Recommended Practices and ASPAN Standards of Perianesthesia Nursing Practice are used as references to support quality, safety, and appropriate patient care. Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients of all ages undergoing ambulatory procedures.
- Care for patients undergoing endoscopy, minor surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic outpatient procedures and treatments.
- Provide care to inpatients requiring major or endoscopic procedures and to patients entering the hospital as same-day admissions.
- Use AORN Ambulatory Surgery Standards and Recommended Practices and ASPAN Standards of Perianesthesia Nursing Practice to guide quality, safe, and appropriate care.
