Registered Nurse - Same Day Surgery
About The Position
Sentara RMH Medical Center is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join its Same Day Surgery team in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The RN delivers competent nursing care using the nursing process and applies the standards of nursing practice and professional performance. The role requires clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to the specific clinical area. The position is scheduled for two 9-hour shifts per week. Available shift options are 0530–1500, 0600–1530, 0700–1630, 0830–1800, and 1000–1930. The workplace is a tobacco-free environment. The posting states that qualifying candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500. Sentara RMH Medical Center is a 238-bed community hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia, serving a seven-county area. It is a Magnet-designated hospital and part of Sentara Health.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Registered Nurse licensure.
- Previous acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Deliver competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
- Apply professional nursing standards involving ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and nursing research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Use the clinical knowledge and skills required to meet standards in the assigned clinical area.
