Registered Nurse (RN) Same Day Surgery
About The Position
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Same Day Surgery unit at its Florence, Kentucky location. The registered nurse provides accountable, evidence-based clinical care to designated patients using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in accordance with ethical and cultural codes and nursing practice standards. The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes and delegates tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed healthcare team members. The role requires treating patients, families, visitors, and coworkers with respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy regardless of cultural background. The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, with a split first- and second-shift schedule.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Hold a license to practice in the state where the work is performed.
- If eligible, hold a Compact (multi-state) License in the primary state of residence.
- Meet contact-hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, and policies.
- Demonstrate competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration.
- Be competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
- Successfully complete preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.
- Be able to critically think and problem-solve in routine and emergency situations.
