Registered Nurse (RN) - Same Day Surgery
About The Position
Sentara Health is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for the 20-bed Same Day Surgery Unit at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This full-time position is 36 hours per week on the day shift, with 8- or 9-hour shifts during the unit’s 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. hours of operation. There are no weekend or holiday shifts; limited call is discussed during the interview. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available for qualified candidates. The nurse’s primary duties include assessing and admitting patients, performing rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and providing overall patient care. The position offers opportunities to develop nursing skills across specialties and, for interested nurses, pursue advancement into leadership or higher levels of care. The unit emphasizes teamwork and coordinated patient care.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in good standing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- At least 2 years of acute or critical care experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced unit.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.

Responsibilities
