About The Position

Sentara Health is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for the 20-bed Same Day Surgery Unit at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The RN’s primary duties include assessing and admitting patients, performing rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and providing overall patient care. The position offers opportunities to develop nursing skills across specialties and pursue advancement into leadership or higher levels of care.

This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week day position. The unit operates from 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with 8- or 9-hour shifts. Weekends and holidays are not scheduled; limited call is discussed during the interview. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available to qualified candidates.

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 273-bed facility and the region’s only Level III Trauma Center. It is an accredited Primary Stroke Center and a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, offering specialized tertiary and advanced clinical services.

Requirements

• Valid RN license in good standing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• At least two years of acute or critical care experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced unit.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.

Responsibilities
