Registered Nurse - 3rd Floor Tower Cardiac - Weekend Option - Night Shift - Part Time Hours
About The Position
The Registered Nurse manages care for patients experiencing medical conditions or undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities include assessing patient condition, administering medications, changing dressings, monitoring vital signs, maintaining records, and providing patients and families with support and education. The nurse maintains broad medical care knowledge to serve a diverse patient population. The position is on the 3rd Floor Tower Cardiac unit at CoxHealth South, a 36-bed Med-Surg Cardiac unit with a subspecialty in vascular surgery post-operative care. Typical patients include people recovering from heart surgery after a 24–48-hour critical care stay, thoracic surgery, and other vascular surgery. Nurses work with surgeons and a range of supporting disciplines and resources, including virtual care nurses, the Early Intervention Team, a decentralized pharmacist, and a dedicated educator. This is a part-time Weekend Option position scheduled for 24 hours per week, with a night shift of 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Weekend Option positions are eligible for full-time benefits. Sign-on and relocation bonuses may be available, and the role offers certification and BSN pay as well as eligibility for a career ladder bonus.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
- Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.
