About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for managing the care of patients experiencing medical conditions or surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Registered Nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients. This is a part-time, weekend option, night shift position on the 3rd Floor Tower Cardiac unit, a 36-bed Med-Surg Cardiac unit with a sub-specialty in vascular surgery post-op care. The typical patient population includes post heart surgery patients, post-op thoracic surgery patients, and other vascular surgery patients. The unit is supported by a team of surgeons, virtual care nurses, an Early Intervention Team, a decentralized pharmacist, and a dedicated educator. The Recruitment and Retention Committee ensures new employees are welcomed and plans engaging activities for staff.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
RN license active in the state of Missouri
BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
