About The Position

Loyola University Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to work on 3NW General Medicine, a 34-bed unit. The unit cares for patients with conditions and needs including heart failure, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, psychiatric concerns, infection, falls, chest pain, and detox. The role provides opportunities to manage a wide range of diagnoses and advance nursing skills in a team-oriented environment focused on treating the whole person physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The position is a full-time, 12-hour night-shift role. Requirements

Degree from an accredited school or college of nursing: BSN or ADN.
BLS Provider certification accredited by the American Heart Association, required prior to hire.
Illinois Board of Nursing license, required prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Med-Surg or Telemetry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients on the 3NW General Medicine unit.
Manage care for a range of patient populations and diagnoses, including heart failure, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, psychiatric concerns, infection, falls, chest pain, and detox.
Perform or manage tracheostomy care, dressing changes, chest tubes, central lines, phlebotomy, and PleurX catheters.
