About The Position
Loyola University Medical Center is seeking Registered Nurses for 3NW General Medicine, a 34-bed unit treating patients with a wide range of conditions, including heart failure, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, psychiatric needs, infections, falls, chest pain, and detoxification needs. The role offers opportunities to manage varied diagnoses and advance nursing skills in a team-oriented unit. Nurses provide exceptional, whole-person care that addresses patients physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited school or college of nursing; BSN or ADN required.
- BLS Provider certification accredited by the American Heart Association, required prior to hire.
- Illinois Board of Nursing license, required prior to hire.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Med Surg / Telemetry preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients on the 3NW General Medicine unit.
- Manage a range of patient diagnoses, including heart failure, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, psychiatric needs, infection, falls, chest pain, and detoxification needs.
- Perform tracheostomy care, dressing changes, chest tube management, central line management, phlebotomy, and PleurX catheter management.
