About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Transfer Center role supports healthcare professionals in delivering patient care and helps ensure the smooth functioning of clinical operations. The position focuses on optimizing hospital resources, including bed allocation, patient flow, and coordinating admissions and discharges so patients are placed in appropriate care settings efficiently. It is an individual-contributor clinical specialty role that may involve patient care and face-to-face interactions, as well as designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. The work requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools, is performed under moderate supervision, and may involve routine problems requiring interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. The role is primarily sedentary and involves extensive desktop computer use, with occasional travel to meetings and programs. The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, three years of relevant experience, and a Virginia Registered Nurse license. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred and required within five years of hire for new hires. A valid Virginia driver's license may also be required.
