About The Position

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will promote patient safety and maintain quality physical health, provide oversight to LPNs and/or BHTs, and contribute as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. The role includes implementing nursing care plans in accordance with physician orders, facility policies and procedures, and safe nursing practices. It also involves safe medication administration and education, professional communication with patients and others, timely and thorough medical record documentation, and appropriate intervention during behavioral crises.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current Arizona or Compact State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
CPR certification.
CPI certification.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of psychiatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Promote patient safety through awareness of the care environment and safe actions involving patient care.
Communicate patient safety issues quickly, clearly, and effectively.
Participate in the treatment team and collaborate on patient needs.
Implement nursing care plans according to physician orders, facility policies and procedures, and safe nursing practices.
Administer medications safely and provide education about new medications, responding to patient questions or concerns.
Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, family members, external entities, and internal staff.
Complete timely, legible, thorough documentation in the required format, including assessments, treatment plans, nursing notes, medication administration, education, discharge planning, incident reports, and medication variances.
Intervene appropriately during behavioral crisis situations, including suicidal or threatening behavior and elopement.
Provide clear direction to the team and communicate patient status to the practitioner.
Provide oversight to LPNs and/or BHTs.
