About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides Med-Surg nursing care at Firelands Health. The role implements the nursing process and carries out physicians’ orders for diet, medication, and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care. The nurse assesses patients, monitors and evaluates care quality, documents interventions in care plans and medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed. The role also provides instruction to patients, staff, and family members about treatments and nursing plans to support safe discharge; responds to emergencies; maintains medication and supply availability; and ensures equipment and the care environment are clean. The nurse demonstrates service excellence and serves as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC. This is a part-time position with a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. schedule. Requirements
- Current Ohio RN license.
- CPR certification before patient care experience.
- Current ACLS and Basic EKG certification, or obtain them within six months of hire and keep them current.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency.
Responsibilities

- Perform patient assessments and monitor and ensure quality care through observation and evaluation.
- Document nursing interventions in care plans and medical records, and report findings to physicians as needed.
- Instruct patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans, and related patient care directed toward safe discharge.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Maintain the availability of medications and supplies.
- Ensure the cleanliness of equipment and the environment.
- Demonstrate service excellence and act as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
