About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides medical-surgical nursing care at Firelands Health. The position implements the nursing process and carries out physician orders for diet, medication, and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care. The nurse performs assessments, monitors and evaluates care quality, documents interventions in care plans and medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed. The role also includes educating patients, staff, and family members about treatments, nursing plans, and patient care to support safe discharge; responding to emergencies; maintaining medication and supply availability; and ensuring equipment and the care environment are clean. The nurse demonstrates service excellence and serves as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC. Firelands Health is a locally managed, not-for-profit healthcare facility serving the Sandusky Bay region. Requirements
- Current Ohio RN license.
- CPR certification before patient care experience.
- Current ACLS and Basic EKG certification, or obtain them within six months of hire and remain current.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency.
Responsibilities

- Perform assessments and monitor and evaluate the quality of care through observation.
- Document nursing interventions on care plans and in medical records, and report findings to physicians as needed.
- Instruct patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans, and related patient care directed toward safe discharge.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Maintain the availability of medications and supplies.
- Ensure the cleanliness of equipment and the environment.
- Demonstrate service excellence and act as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
