Clin Nurse II
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. The role assesses patient and family learning needs, develops and evaluates plans of care, recommends interventions, and resolves moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision. The nurse also supports staff and students through precepting, supervises designated support personnel, follows safety and care standards, completes annual education, and participates in quality improvement initiatives. This is a full-time Float Pool position at Parkwest Medical Center in West Knoxville. The schedule is 80 hours per pay period on the day shift.
Requirements
- At least one year of professional nursing experience.
- Maintain Tennessee State RN licensure.
- CPR required.
Responsibilities
- Correlate patient history and support systems within hospital or nursing home care.
- Assess the learning needs of patients and families.
- Develop and initiate plans of care involving patients and families.
- Recommend interventions and evaluate plans of care.
- Resolve moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.
- Demonstrate willingness to precept employees or students as directed.
- Review preceptee clinical performance with the unit leader or clinical instructor.
- Demonstrate competence in critical skills and provide care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.
- Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complete required education assignments annually.
- Work toward goals and objectives and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
