About The Position
Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. The role is part of the Float Pool at Parkwest Medical Center, a Covenant Health facility in West Knoxville. Parkwest provides advanced services and community-centered care, with specialties including cardiac care, breast health, emergency care, and critical care.
Requirements
- At least one year of professional nursing experience.
- Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN licensure.
- CPR certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital or nursing home care.
- Assesses the learning needs of patients and families.
- Develops and initiates plans of care involving patients and families.
- Recommends interventions and evaluates plans of care.
- Resolves moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.
- Demonstrates willingness to precept employees or students as directed.
- Reviews preceptee clinical performance with the unit leader or clinical instructor.
- Performs critical skills competently and delivers care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.
- Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Completes required annual education assignments.
- Works toward goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
