About The Position

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. This is a registered nurse role in the emergency room at Roane Medical Center, a facility providing medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services, as well as diagnostic imaging and rehabilitation support.

Requirements

• At least one year of professional nursing experience.
• Valid Tennessee RN license.
• CPR required.
• Education sufficient to meet the standards for the required license and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care or nursing home care.
• Assesses the learning needs of patients and families.
• Develops and initiates plans of care involving patients and families.
• Recommends interventions and evaluates plans of care.
• Resolves moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.
• Participates actively in unit or facility activities.
• Precepts employees or students as directed and reviews the preceptee’s clinical performance with the unit leader or clinical instructor.
• Demonstrates competence in critical skills and delivers care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards; completes required annual education assignments; works toward goals and objectives; and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
