About The Position

The psychiatric unit nurse cares for patients with behavioral health illnesses in an acute care setting. The nurse conducts intake interviews, assesses and evaluates patients, establishes plans of care, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and may conduct therapeutic groups. This position is PRN with varied hours and a rotating work shift at Cox North in Springfield, Missouri.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
• Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate effective leadership abilities.
• Exhibit valuable time-management skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Previous nursing experience.
