Registered Nurse (RN) - Adult Psych
About The Position
North Vista Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care in adult behavioral health. The role involves treating patients, educating them about mental and medical conditions, and offering advice and emotional support to patients and their families. Nurses run therapeutic groups and provide psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint when needed. Registered Nurses document medical histories and symptoms; assist with diagnostic testing and analysis; operate medical machinery; administer treatments and medications; and support patient follow-up and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, medication self-administration, and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned. This is a full-time night-shift position at North Vista Hospital in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
- Obtain ALS certification within 120 days of hire and maintain current; employees hired before February 1, 2026, must obtain ACLS certification by May 15, 2026.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
