About The Position

The Registered Nurse, Float Pool, PRN, Nights implements the nursing process for patients of all ages, from infancy through geriatric care, consistent with Kentucky nursing laws and organizational policies and procedures. The nurse promotes positive patient outcomes and quality care, uses critical thinking and clinical reasoning to exercise appropriate nursing judgment, and collaborates with the interprofessional team. National Professional Nursing Standards guide practice. The nurse also contributes to a healthy professional practice environment through unit-based and hospital shared governance councils and models continuous professional development and lifelong learning.

This position floats among the current Freestanding Emergency Department and Urgent Care locations in Kentucky and Indiana. The nurse uses the nursing process as the framework for providing care. Additional duties may be assigned, and specific functions may change as professional practice and standards evolve.

Requirements

• Active Kentucky RN license.
• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• BCLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments.
• Develop plans of care using appropriate evidence-based standards of care.
• Provide care consistent with policies, procedures, current evidence-based professional standards, and Baptist Health Louisville’s nursing mission, vision, values, and model of care.
• Evaluate patient responses to treatment.
• Apply critical-thinking, clinical-reasoning, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Collaborate with the interprofessional team to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in unit-based and hospital shared governance councils and contribute to a healthy professional practice environment.
• Maintain continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
• Float among current Freestanding Emergency Department and Urgent Care locations in Kentucky and Indiana.
