About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Freestanding Emergency Department is responsible and accountable for providing direct, comprehensive nursing care to patients from admission through discharge. The nurse reviews and documents care provided, outcomes, and evaluations of care, and follows professional standards of care. This is a PRN position with a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. schedule.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Kentucky.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC) within three years of hire.
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within six months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within two years of hire.
• Complete mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training before the end of the orientation period and maintain it annually.
