Freestanding Emergency Department Float Registered Nurse PRN Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse Float Pool position provides PRN day-shift coverage at multiple freestanding emergency department and urgent care locations in Kentucky and Indiana. The nurse implements the nursing process for patients of all ages, from infancy through geriatrics, in accordance with Kentucky Nursing Laws and organizational policies and procedures. The role promotes positive patient outcomes and quality care, uses critical thinking and clinical reasoning, collaborates with the interprofessional team, and contributes to a healthy professional practice environment. Nurses are also expected to support continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
Requirements
- Active Kentucky RN license.
- Associate's degree in nursing.
- BCLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- Ability to float between freestanding ED/urgent care locations in Kentucky and Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Assess and reassess patients.
- Develop plans of care using appropriate evidence-based standards of care.
- Provide care consistent with policies, procedures, current evidence-based professional standards of practice, and Baptist Health Louisville’s nursing mission, vision, values, and model of care.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment.
- Apply critical thinking, clinical reasoning, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Participate in unit-based and hospital shared governance councils.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional team to enhance patient outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
