About The Position

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse Traveler for acute medical telemetry. This is a 14-week temporary travel assignment working nights. The RN provides competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The nurse also follows professional performance standards related to ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. Clinical knowledge and skills must meet the standards of the specific clinical area, along with any specialty-specific requirements.

Requirements

• ADN, BSN, or MSN degree.
• Valid RN license to practice in Virginia.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• At least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in medical or telemetry.
• Experience with the EPIC documentation system.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Perform assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
• Meet professional practice standards for ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Maintain clinical knowledge and skills that meet the standards of the medical telemetry specialty.
