About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The nurse uses critical-thinking skills to assess patients’ conditions, recognize changes, plan and evaluate care, monitor progress, and record pertinent observations. The role also delegates appropriate patient-care tasks to other staff and works as a team member to fulfill unit goals. Duties may vary by assigned unit or shift. This per diem Labor & Delivery position is based in Elmhurst, Illinois, with night hours from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The per diem commitment is 32–72 hours per six-week schedule. The nurse may be required to float to mother-baby as needed and work rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Associate Degree or higher in Nursing. If an Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, the employee must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of the position start date.
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of the position start date.
Certificate of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) within one year of the position start date.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of the position start date.

Nice To Haves

Labor & Delivery RN experience preferred.
